Old Hungarian (Rovás)
Traditional Székely-Hungarian Rovás script.
Traditional Székely-Hungarian Rovás script. Official use declined after Latin alphabet adoption in the 10th century but never fully disappeared. Rediscovered during the 19th-century Hungarian national revival, nationalist groups today actively promote daily use. Written right-to-left, it has a distinctive directionality. Registered as Hungarian traditional cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2017, it is taught as an elective subject in Hungarian schools.
