Script of the Uyghur Empire and kingdom (8th–15th centuries). Derived from Sogdian, it became the direct ancestor of Mongolian script, which in turn gave rise to Manchu — making this the longest unbroken script lineage in Eurasian history: Sogdian → Uyghur → Mongolian → Manchu.
