캐나다 크리족의 음절 문자.
캐나다 크리족의 음절 문자. 1840년대 선교사 제임스 에반스가 고안했으며 기호의 방향(회전)이 모음을 나타내는 독특한 체계다. 크리족이 이 문자를 빠르게 받아들여 선교사 없이도 스스로 가르치기 시작했다는 기록이 있다. 현재 캐나다 누나부트·노스웨스트 준주의 공식 문자 체계의 일부이며, 북극 원주민 언어 보존 운동의 핵심 도구다.
