Fictional script created by linguist Marc Okrand in 1984 for the Star Trek TV series. Designed with a unique phonological system and grammar to create a concretely logical alien language. Klingon is listed in the Guinness World Records as "the world's most widely spoken constructed language," and a Klingon translation of Hamlet has been published. Unicode registration was proposed in 1997 but rejected. Today thousands of dedicated fans worldwide actually converse in Klingon.
