One of the world's most stable scripts, used for 1,600 years with almost no modification since Saint Mesrop Mashtots created it in 405 AD. The Armenian Church considers it "a gift from God," and immediately after Bible translation, a golden age of 5th-century Armenian literature began. After the 1915 Ottoman genocide of Armenians, this script became the central symbol of national identity for ~7 million diaspora scattered worldwide.
