Gondi script that developed independently from Masaram Gondi in Telangana in the 1940s. With two concurrent systems for the same language, ~3 million Gond people face a choice of which script to use. Unicode inclusion in 2019 began enabling digital adoption. The Indian government recognizes both scripts, and which to adopt for school education is an ongoing debate.
