Commercial script used in the Multan region of modern Punjab, Pakistan from the 19th century until the 1947 partition. Hindu merchants used it for accounting and trade records. It effectively disappeared when Hindu traders migrated to India after partition. Multan was a key node on the ancient Silk Road, and this script is a product of that trading tradition.
