Script used by the Buhid Mangyan community of Mindanao, Philippines. While most Philippine scripts were replaced by Latin after Spanish colonization (1565), the Buhid people preserved their script thanks to the protective isolation of mountain terrain. The tradition of carving on bamboo and palm leaves continues today.
