1980년대 미얀마 로힝야족 학자 하니피 야수민이 창제한 문자.
1980년대 미얀마 로힝야족 학자 하니피 야수민이 창제한 문자. 아랍 문자 기반 표기의 한계를 극복하기 위해 로힝야어 고유 음소를 완벽히 표기할 수 있도록 설계됐다. 2017년 미얀마 군부의 대규모 학살로 약 70만 명이 난민이 된 이후, 방글라데시 쿠투팔롱 난민촌(세계 최대)에서 이 문자 교육이 문화 정체성 유지의 핵심이 됐다. 2021년 유니코드에 등재됐다.
