페르시아-아랍 문자 기반의 현대 위구르 문자.
페르시아-아랍 문자 기반의 현대 위구르 문자. 중국 신장 위구르 자치구의 공식 문자이며, 8개의 모음 기호가 추가된 독자적 체계다. 소련의 영향으로 한때 키릴 문자를 거쳤으며, 독립 후 라틴 문자를 시도했다가 다시 아랍 문자로 돌아온 복잡한 역사를 가진다. 현재 중국 정부의 위구르 문화 탄압 속에서 이 문자 교육이 제한되며 정체성의 상징이 됐다.
