Script of the Chakma people of Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill Tracts and northeastern India. Used for Pali Buddhist scriptures, the Chakma language is now endangered. Against the backdrop of Bangladesh's history of suppressing Chakma people, this script has become a last bastion of cultural identity. Added to Unicode in 2012; textbook production is being promoted in India's Tripura state.
